Panthertown Valley Trail Professional Reviews and Guides
"I’m going to take you by the hand and lead you on a 5.5-mile loop trail that takes in the best of Panthertown Valley: waterfalls, granite cliffs, a rare Appalachian bog, a dense white pine forest, and a sea of some of the best ground cover around."
--Joe Miller, 100 Classic Hikes in North Carolina (The Mountaineers Books).
"This high-elevation, flat-bottomed valley is full of trails and this route is the easiest. You'll start with a descent over loose rocks and then circle the flattest part of the valley along sandy trails beside a quiet stream. Majestic granite domes surround you on all sides. Be prepared for a strenuous climb back up to the start."
--Jim Parham, Off The Beaten Track Volume I: A Guide to Mountain Biking in Western North Carolina - The Smokies (Milestone Press).
