Rockfish Creek

Rockfish Creek Professional Review and Guide

"Rockfish Creek begins in Moore County only a mile south of Weymouth Woods Sandhills Nature Preserve, on the edge of Southern Pines. It flows southeast into Hoke County, entering the western border of Fort Bragg Military Reservation.

It continues southeast and flows by Raeford and Hope Mills, just south of Fayetteville, before joining the Cape Fear River. This eTrail contains 1 section of Rockfish Creek from NC 59 (South Main Street) bridge near Hope Mills to NC 87 bridge."

I paddled and fished on the Rockfish Creek for 2 days. Fishing was great on Saturday and not so hot on Sunday, but the scenery and solitude was wonderful. The dark, but clear water, the multiple sand bars as well as several water falls made this a very enjoyable trip even if I hadn't caught any fish. I would highly recommend this creek to anyone who loves to paddle and enjoys the beauty of God's creation. Chris E.
