Bethabara Greenway Professional Reviews and Guides

"This trek back in time begins at the Bethabara Moravian village site, where you can gain some insight into how early area residents made their way in what was then a howling wilderness. A museum adds to the outdoor exhibits. Next, hike along streams that lead to a watery marsh, where an observation pier allows a view of a modern wilderness amid suburbia. Travel a marsh boardwalk that allows more aquatic integration before returning to the trailhead.

This hike starts at Historic Bethabara Park, the preserved site of an early settlement. Back in 1753, German-speaking Moravians decided to call the land along Monarcas Creek home.
Today you can see the restored 1788 church, Gemeinhaus, located adjacent to the trailhead. The grounds also include
the ruins of other buildings and some reconstructed sites of
small cabins and such displaying the life of the Moravians. I
highly suggest touring the grounds before or after your hike
and also checking out the museum."
