The most level terrain in Dupont State Forest is in (where else?) the Flatwoods area. Still, there’s not much of it. This short route takes advantage of the scarce flats and makes a good ride for those just getting started on mountain bikes. The ride surface is 1.5 miles of double track. Highlights include no hills, wide trails, some loose rocks, and a few sandy spots.

Fun little ride with moderate inclines along forest roads. When we went on the day after Thanksgiving, there were 4 or 5 other cars, and we saw only 4 other people on the ride. There is a "Kids Loop" just off the parking lot that has a cool little area with elevated wooden ramps and whoop-de-doos that make it not just for kids! Looking for a short ride in a beautiful forest ... then try Flatwoods Easy.
