Kerr Lake State Recreation Area: Satterwhite Point Group Camp Professional Review and Guide
"As far as location goes, Satterwhite has a great spot. There’s an open field at the entrance, which is a great place to kick or toss a ball around or even get an organized game going. The campground is nestled alongside a cove in the lake. The contrast between the green water and the red clay of the shoreline is quite picturesque.
You can swim, fish, or launch a canoe right from your campsite. Or if you have a motorized boat, head up the road about 0.5 mile and you’ll find a paved boat ramp as well. The Satterwhite Point day-use area is also just 0.5 mile up the road, and there’s a large swim beach, field upon field of open area, more waterfront picnic areas, a playground, and a nature trail. This is a wonderful place to simply sit and watch the sunset."
