Standing Indian Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"According to Cherokee legend, a warrior was once posted on top of a certain mountain to look out for a flying monster that had swept away a child from a nearby village. The villagers prayed to the Great Spirit to annihilate the monster. A violent storm struck the mountain, reducing it to rock, turning the lookout warrior into a stone “Standing Indian.”"
