This path travels past several historic sites on its journey to the Anne Springs Close Nature Center. By starting at the Dairy Barn trailhead, the route first visits Coltharp Cabin, a small wooden farmhouse dating back to 1800. The trail then crosses the historic Nation Ford Road and enters the courtyard of Graham Cabin. This two-story cabin, built in 1780, was the childhood home of famous evangelist Billy Grahams grandfather. Past Coltharp Cabin, the trail delves into the forest and follows the curvaceous Steele Creek to a trail junction, where a springy suspension bridge leads across the water. Past the bridge you will travel a gentle uphill through a mixed hardwood forest to arrive at the Anne Springs Close Nature Center. When you are done visiting the Nature Center, you will then be able to backtrack to the trailhead on the historic Nation Ford Road.
