Fishing Creek

Fishing Creek Professional Review and Guide

"Fishing Creek is the largest tributary of the Tar River. The creek’s headwaters begin in Vance County, northeast of Henderson, near Kerr Lake. It flows southeast and joins Shocco Creek near where Warren, Franklin, Nash, and Halifax Counties meet. Fishing Creek’s course becomes more easterly as it picks up Little Fishing Creek before passing 15 miles north of Rocky Mount.

It turns south to join the Tar River, 3 miles northeast of Tarboro. The creek channel constantly twists and turns through farmland and forests. There are no towns of any size near Fishing Creek’s banks until it passes near Enfield. This eTrail contains 7 sections of Fishing Creek from Ita Road (Halifax Co. 1327) bridge to Riverfront Park access at Tarboro on Tar River."
