Elk Falls Professional Review and Guide
"No one knows how deep the pool is at the bottom of this waterfall. The Elk River drops 85 feet over a wide, even ledge to form Elk River Falls and then crashes into a huge rock bowl that looks like an amphitheater. Divers going down with weights have not been able to fight the force pushing upward. There are several stories of bags of silver being dropped into the pool during the Civil War."
