Stone Mountain Falls

Stone Mountain Falls Professional Review and Guide

"In the 1960s R. Philip Hanes Jr. (former CEO of the Hanes clothing company) saw a lot of trash go over the waterfalls here while he was on a picnic. In order to protect the falls, he decided to purchase them. The tract was the first piece of land that Hanes bought in the area. Hanes eventually donated more than 1,000 acres to Stone Mountain State Park, and this area was the last portion that he contributed. Stone Mountain Falls became part of the park in 1986."
