Woodland Nature Trail — Falls Lake State Recreation Area Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The Woodland Nature Trail is a little, wooded gem that is located near picnic area 1. It is a nice, shaded leg-stretcher hike that you can take after a swim or a picnic. The area is relatively quiet and peaceful, away from most of the motorboat noise from Falls Lake’s other recreation areas.
Another plus is the easy access to flush toilets and water fountains. The trail is not heavily traveled and is not open to mountain bikes. Abundant wildflowers in spring and colorful autumn leaves, as well as cooler temperatures and fewer insects, also make it a nice hike in those seasons. However, the Sandling Beach section is closed from November 1 through March 15."
