Six Runs Creek

Six Runs Creek Professional Review and Guide

"Six Runs Creek is a blackwater stream beginning in swamps northeast of Clinton in Sampson County. It flows south and joins Great Coharie Creek to form the Black River, 14 miles south of Clinton. Six Runs Creek is swampy in its headwaters, as are most Sampson County rivers. The banks rise somewhat downstream, and it becomes a blackwater river confined to a single channel. Sections 4–5 of Six Runs Creek were designated Outstanding Resource Waters in 1994.

There has been some decrease in water quality in recent years, and the high concentration of hog farms in the Sampson County watersheds has caused concern. This eTrail contains 5 sections of Six Runs Creek from Pine Bridge Road (Sampson Co. 1904) bridge to NC 903 (Sampson Co. 1003) bridge."
