Morrow Mountain State Park Professional Review and Guide
"Morrow Mountain State Park is a wooded, hilly area where more than 30 miles of trails wander over and between modest mountains. That means these forested summits give a pretty good shot at solitude. The 4,742-acre park occupies the southern Uwharrie Mountains, a range that mostly lies north of Lake Tillery in the Uwharrie National Forest and on adjacent private land in Stanly, Montgomery, and Randolph Counties.
The park has a 106-unit campground for tents and RVs, with restrooms and showers, two picnic areas, a museum, a boat ramp, rental rowboats and canoes, six cabins (spring through fall), a swimming pool, and the Kron House, the restored home of a physician who served the isolated area in the mid-1800s. The park opened in 1939, and many facilities, including the stone poolside bathhouse, were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)."
