Indian Creek and Sunkota Ridge Loop

Indian Creek and Sunkota Ridge Loop Professional Review and Guide

"On this long but rewarding day hike, pass two waterfalls and then walk along old homesteads amid the riverine habitat of Indian Creek. Climb to Martins Gap and return via the quiet Sunkota Ridge Trail, with its drier forest.

Winter offers maximum solitude and leafless woods, where you can see the homesites of Indian Creek more clearly. Spring presents wildflowers and the waterfalls at their boldest. Fall colors on Sunkota Ridge can be stunning. The trailhead and first 0.7 mile of the hike may be a madhouse in summer. The secluded part of the hike starts beyond this first 0.7 mile."
