"Starting and finishing at the ranger station, this ride combines easy streamside riding with a 4-mile climb and good technical downhill single track. Ride surface: single track 2.9 miles, double track 1.4 miles, forest road 4 miles, and pavement 1 mile. Highlights: Views, timber cuts, grassy road, diagonal log water breaks, and short pushes."

Don't get me wrong with the very low rating, although you will have a really sweet if what bumpy downhill, this is definitely the lazy person's version ( that doesn't even take you as far as Black Mountain). I strongly believe that a notorious downhill mayhem should be earned, and not taken. There are some fantastic Mountain Biking trails that lead to the Top of Black Mountain that should be considered before following a graveled road to the top as this guide suggests. For example Turkey Pen to Black Mountain, or Club Gap to Black Mountain etc.
Black Mountain is a "Must Do " Trail, but not the way this guide describes it.
