Fletcher Creek Trail Professional Review and Guide
"It's easy to understand why this area is so popular among mountain bikers. The mixed hardwood forest provides plenty of shade on those hot, midsummer rides. And in the winter, after leaf fall, expansive views open up to show the North Fork Mills River flowing between the twin cliffs of Forge Mountain and Bryson Mountain. The doubletrack route is not only easy for beginning bikers to cruise, it is also a popular spot for wildlife of all sort to leave their mark. This ride begins at a common trailhead for several other trails. For scenery, it's got a bit of everything: creek crossings, wildlife openings, and forest shade."
--Steve Jones, Mountain Bike! The Southern Appalachian & Smoky Mountains (Menasha Ridge Press).
This ride is not for beginners. Intermediate at least. Miles 1 - 3 are tough with a lot of elevation change. Miles 4 - 5.6 are great for stretching out. At the first left turn you have to ride through a very deep rutted trail full of large, loose rocks. Very dangerous.
