Beaver Dam Overlook, View Stony Bald, Big Ridge Overlook, View Chesnut Cove, and other parkings, Lance Mountain (elevation 2,992 feet) and Ferrin Knob (elevation 3,973 feet), and the Ferin Fire Tower (elevation 4,006 feet) tower can be seen along the trail. There are also restrooms along the trail. This trail connects with the following: Sleepy Gap Trail, Three Humps, Hard Times Road and Bent Creek Gap Road.
