Short Yancey

Short Yancey Professional Review and Guide

"You pay your money up front for this ride; that means starting out with an unrelenting 3.2-mile climb. But such pain buys you a buffet of downhills to enjoy on the way back: smooth, fast, dirt cruisers; eroded and fickle hard-pack; sick, tilted boulder fields; and slippery gravel screamers.

Although novices might walk a section or three, anyone with the grit to make the opening climb will enjoy this trail thoroughly. Tread: 4.8 miles of singletrack; 3.2 miles of old Forest Service road; 1 mile of gravel road."
