Long Yancey

Long Yancey Professional Review and Guide

"This trail offers you everything you can handle and more. It starts with Short Yancey’s long, brutal climb, then throws in some even nastier ones later for good measure. Along the way, it hands out insane switchbacks that go on for days; boulder fields; incredibly tight tunnel running; whoop-dee-doos; and a hair-raising gravel road run.

The swimming hole along FR 45 is a required stop, along with Coffey’s General Store. Smart riders will leave a shuttle vehicle at Coffey’s and avoid the 4-mile gravel road climb back to the start. You won’t be missing out on much other than a whole lot of pain. Tread: 3.1 miles of singletrack; 4.6 miles of old Forest Service road; 9.3 miles of gravel road."
