Julian Price Memorial Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Julian Price Memorial Park is one of the scenic high points of the Blue Ridge Park-way. Its 4,200 acres contain a golden 47-acre lake, the Parkway’s second-largest picnic area, and its largest campground, with superb lakeside camping. Descriptions of the following trails are included: the Green Knob Trail, Boone Fork Trail and Price Lake Trail.
Cross the spillway bridge and dam of Sims Pond and turn left along the rhododendron-lined shoreline. The trail rises along the feeder stream through a long grove of towering hemlocks, sadly now dying or dead due to the hemlock woolly adelgid. The trail rises above the stream as the ka-thump of cars can be heard above on the Sims Creek Viaduct."
