Glen Burney Trail

Glen Burney Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Found within a wonderful garden-style park in the heart of Blowing Rock, the Glen Burney Trail makes a bee line nearly due south as it follows New Years Creek downstream. The trail leads you past “The Ruins” and then on to view three wonderful waterfalls, each a bit bigger than the last.

The exact origins of the Glen Burney Trail are unknown, but it’s been used for over 100 years. Despite its longevity, it doesn’t see much traffic, due to its difficulty. It begins as a wide gravel path, but the majority of the trail is hard-packed dirt that’s easier on the paws. The cool air from the creek and shade from the trees make this hike enjoyable year-round."
