Badin Lake Loop Professional Review and Guide
"This hike traverses along the shoreline of Badin Lake and through rugged hills of the Uwharrie National Forest in Montgomery County. You will have trouble keeping your eyes off the scenic lake views while watching your footing on rocky terrain. The undulating landscape has plenty of ups and downs, especially compared to other Piedmont destinations, so be prepared.A campground host is located on-site and makes for a good jumping-off point. The trail passes two nice campgrounds, Badin Lake and Arrowhead. They may tempt you to add an overnight campout to your Uwharrie National Forest adventure. Leaves, rocks, and roots compose the natural-surface trail. Note the abundance of exposed milky-white quartz."
