Two Rivers

Two Rivers Professional Review and Guide

"The open terrain on this ride makes for some long range views and a rolling ride with many fun ups and downs. As the name implies, you'll travel beside two rivers. The French Broad is big and wide, and you'll follow it for a good distance. The Ivy River is not so big and you'll ride beside it only a short period.

A particularly nice aspect of the route is the gentle downgrade alongside the French Broad. There's also a steep, mile-long climb in the middle of the ride. Be sure to carry plenty of water and provisions; the facilities along the way are limited. Points of interest: Beautiful views in Jupiter area; Riverside parks along French Broad River."

The road along the river is fine, however, we went to ride on Friday PM and the major landfill for Buncombe county/ Asheville is along the first 5 or 6 miles of this route so we had to contend with garbage trucks flying past us coming and going...we ended up cutting the ride short and turning around. Would recommend riding this route on Saturday, Sundays or Holidays...not Friday afternoon.
