This was a nice trail and a beautiful fall hike. Unfortunately we felt that the map, the trail markers and what guidebooks we found differed in terms of "how to make the loop" and when/where to double back. Overall easy to figure out but it seems to be needless consternation and unfortunately typical the the suboptimal markings on regional trails.
