Ebenezer Church Walk

Ebenezer Church Walk Professional Review and Guide

"This pair of short loops wanders through the heart of Ebenezer Church Recreation Area, on the shores of Jordan Lake. Leave the often lively swim beach area and join the Ebenezer Church Trail. Visit the site of an 1820s church and later homestead then wander past a bucolic farm pond before returning to the trailhead.

Your second walk first passes through a picnic area then makes a loop on the Old Oak Trail, where interpretive information and yet another pond awaits. What we see today as Jordan Lake, enveloped in vast forests and interspersed with recreation areas, was not always so. This part of North Carolina has been pioneered since the 1700s. Simple farms were once scattered throughout the New Hope Creek valley."
