Brasstown Loop Professional Review and Guide
"This is one of the westernmost rides you can do in North Carolina. Considering its length, it's surprising there are no major climbs on the route. The reason: you'll be taking advantage of a broad valley where two rivers, the Hiwassee and the Valley River, come together. Starting in Andrews, you'll ride all the way to Brasstown, famous as the location of the John C. Campbell Folk School. The school focuses on Appalachian crafts, performing arts and agriculture.
This ride takes you right through the school, and its large complex of buildings makes it a great place to stop for a break. You'll take in downtown Andrews twice and downtown Murphy once, but for the most part you'll be in very rural farm country. In fact, at one point you'll nearly ride right through a Holstein cattle barn. Points of interest: Valley River; cattle and horse farms; John C. Campbell Folk School."
