Flint Ridge Professional Review and Guide
"This trail is just the first in a whole series of trails to be built by the Nantahala Outdoor Center ranging from beginner to advanced. Much of this trail is already complete. A series of nine gradual switchbacks will take you easily up a very steep face to the top of Flint Ridge where you'll ride along the ridge and through several beautiful bowls. You'll work your way over to Townhouse Creek for a hair-raising descent to the headwaters of lake Fontana before finishing back at the NOC."

my oldest son and myself have rode this trail about 5 times in the last couple of years. always ranks as the best that we can find. because of its short length we have to do it twice.once you get up the 9 switchbacks this trail takes off. really fast with jumps ,bowls and stepp ridgelines. only rode it once in the summertime so the average temperature when i'm usually riding it is about 28 degrees. always leave sweating. spectacular views also
