Morrow Mountain State Park

Morrow Mountain State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Rich in geological and cultural history, Morrow Mountain houses the largest prehistoric quarry in the state of North Carolina. The park’s museum exhibits a large variety of tool styles that were used throughout the ages when Native Americans inhabited the area. Along with the quarry and museum, the park has a picnic area and a swimming pool that is very popular with the locals.

The property borders Lake Tillery and the Pee Dee and Yadkin Rivers. You can rent a canoe or rowboat from the riverside concession stand or bring your own boat and use the park’s launch site. Bridle trails loop around the outskirts of the park, and hiking trails traverse throughout, some leading to a handful of backpack campsites."
