Sheafman Creek

Sheafman Creek Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This trail traverses the upper “hanging valley” portion of the Sheafman Creek drainage—a physiographic distinction that is unique among the major Bitterroot canyons—and offers access to its headwater lakes 10 miles northwest of Hamilton.

Due to the elevated starting point and despite the multiple stream crossings, the hiking here is easier than you might expect; Garrard and Knaack Lakes are especially well suited for either a full day hike or an easy overnight trip."
