Firehole River Professional Review and Guide
"The most exotic free-flowing river in the country, with trout to match. Half an hour ago, you pulled into the parking lot, rigged your five-weight, struggled into your ‘prenes, laced and tied your felt-soled boots, slung on your vest over that soft and warm fleece sweater, and walked down to the stream.
The Firehole has a special effect on anglers, perhaps induced by the faint odor of sulphur cast into the wind by scores of geysers and fumaroles. Rising in Madison Lake, the Firehole is a very thin stream and not worth fishing above Old Faithful and closed to fishing immediately below.
Species: Rainbow, brown. Angling methods: fly-fishing only."
