Grizzly Creek - Castle Lake

Grizzly Creek - Castle Lake Professional Review and Guide

"The Granite Creek Trail is the route of choice for travelers bound for Schafer Meadows. In contrast to the Morrison Creek Trail, this trail holds up well under high traffic, with few boggy spots to make traveling unpleasant.

This route is a much shorter route to the Schafer Meadows area than the Big River Trail. Castle Lake is one of the more popular destinations in the area, offering forage for horses and fishing opportunities for visitors. Heavy visitor use has resulted in negative impacts on the surrounding country; be especially careful to minimize wear and tear on this popular lake basin."
