Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park Professional Review and Guide

"The worst thing you can say about Glacier is that it doesn’t quite have the diversity of features found in, for example, Yellowstone, Yosemite or Olympic National Park. What it does have in abundance is the finest mountain scenery in the country. The mountainous terrain is highlighted by over 50 major glaciers and more than 200 lakes. Top that off with a tremendous variety of trees and all colors of wildflowers in summer, and you have a natural setting par excellence. The highlight of the park for most visitors is the famous Going to the Sun Road, an engineering marvel that crosses the Continental Divide at 6,680 feet and provides access to some outstanding scenery.

This majestic area extends beyond the northern edge of the park into Canada. The United States and Canada have created an international park here. Together, the two parks form Waterton Lakes-Glacier International Peace Park. A special section on Waterton Lakes is found at the end of this chapter. There is a special tranquillity here in the rarefied mountain air. And beauty everywhere. A visit will not soon be forgotten. This eTrail explains in detail how to tour the park. In addition to a park map the details include driving tours, outdoor recreation, accommodations, campgrounds, dining, and more."

Glacier is the most beautiful place that I have ever seen. The mountain ranges are like no other. The views are incredible. The only thing that was annoying at times was the foggy haze during the summer, other than that, it is a must go.
