Argosy Creek

Argosy Creek Professional Review and Guide

"This trail provides a spur trip for visitors to the Dolly Varden Creek valley. From its junction with the Dolly Varden Creek Trail, the trail running up Argosy Creek runs southwest to reach the bank of Dolly Varden Creek just above its confluence with Argosy Creek. The trail completes the knee-deep ford of both creeks before turning west along the north bank of Argosy Creek. After an initial start in a closed-canopy forest of lodgepole pine, the trail soon finds its way onto a high bluff overlooking the creek. Looking upstream, rocky foothills rise above the south bank of the creek. The trail climbs steadily as it wanders inland through a lodgepole forest interrupted by avalanche slopes that yield views of an unnamed spur of Argosy Mountain to the north. The trail finally levels out as it makes a beeline to the west through a forest of young lodgepole."
