We hiked this trail just a few weeks ago and it was beautiful. I was especially pleased by how few people we saw along the way, which makes the wilderness experience all that more serene and pure. The terrain varies and it climbs uphill at a pretty constant pace so I would rate it as a moderate hike. This is also a good trail for dogs (especially if they love water like mine do). There are plenty of shady areas right along the creek, which is good because the sun can get pretty hot. The falls themselves are super impressive and drop about 60 feet. Be sure to look for a second waterfall that is about a quarter of a mile upstream and the water cascades over a high ledge. It is really worth it to see the second set of falls. Along the trail we spotted so many blooming wildflowers and pretty foliage (lupine, paintbrush, beargrass, etc) and butterflies, too. Great hike in the Bitterroot!
