This trail is nice, what the guide said is true, extreme vertical not a whole lot of switchbacks. You hike up, up, up. Go later in the year unless you want to run into snow, there were still between 3 and 4 feet of snow a quarter of the way up. This trail is OVER 3.5 miles, or will feel like it, because of the vertical climb, an extremly fun hike, beautiful view, cant wait to fish it later in the year, take your time and leave early in the day. We spent the night three quarters of the way up and was still a good trip. Snow was fun to slide down, being its still got snow. You cross the creek two or three times. We only crossed twice because the third time the snow covered it enough we could walk across. Trailhead starts at roughly 3400 ft and the top is at 6400 ft so be prepared.
