Necklace Lakes

Necklace Lakes Professional Review and Guide

"The Necklace Lakes are a series of subalpine tarns that lie in a wide, rocky basin, surrounded by the peaks of the Swan Range. The direct trail to Necklace Pass, discussed in this eTrail, is extremely steep and offers no water along the way."

See my review of Holland Lake Loop, which is a far preferable way to visit Necklace Lakes than the point-to-point hike described here. That hike takes you up and down a series of steep switchbacks from Holland Lake, while I did it as a dayhike from camp at Sapphire Lake, on the loop. My rating is based on the up-and-down version, which is too much work and limited rewards until you reach the top.
