Holland Falls Professional Review and Guide
"This short trail, running from the Holland Lake Lodge to the falls at the head of the lake, provides a pleasant stroll for hikers who have a limited time to explore the area. This route has National Recreation Trail status and is closed to bicycles, horses, and motorized vehicles in order to enhance the recreational experience of hikers. However, motorboat traffic is heavy on the lake during the summer months, especially on weekends. Perhaps the best time of year to hike this trail is early autumn, when the larch and hardwoods surrounding the lake burst into bright yellows and oranges.
The trail begins at the North Holland trailhead and soon reaches a junction with trails to Upper Holland Lake and the Holland Lake Lodge. The falls trail, marked with trail signs, runs eastward along the shoreline toward the Swan Range. The lake has a moderating effect on the microclimate of the surrounding valley, and the result is a forest of outstanding diversity."
