Garnet Peak

Garnet Peak Professional Review and Guide

"This primitive route follows the ridgeline above the Big Salmon valley from a point near the foot of Big Salmon Lake to Brownie Creek. The trail becomes difficult to follow after reaching Salmon Point, and large sections of the route beyond Garnet Peak exist only as blazes on trees. The trail is especially difficult to follow during its descent into the Big Salmon valley from Brownie Creek. For this reason, the trail should only be attempted from the east to west. This route is recommended only for seasoned backpackers who are looking for a route-finding challenge."
