Crescent Lake

Crescent Lake Professional Review and Guide

"A forested lake basin in the Mission Mountains Wilderness. This is a heavily used area, so be sure to check the information board at the trailhead to review current regulations. For example, the shoreline of Glacier Lake is open to day use only, no camping."

There is a little cluster of beautiful alpine lakes to walk to from the Glacier Lake trailhead. We chose to check out Crescent this time. About 3 miles in the views of Glacier Lake are spectacular! Once you arrive at Crescent, the trail winds around the south side of the lake. We hung out on the rocks and swam before heading back, but it is possible to go another mile or so and find Heart Lake. There are some really nice spots for camping out here, but maybe next time. Keep in mind that the Mission Mountains are bear country and be prepared and aware!

Nice trail with easy access to a fairly scenic lake.
