St. Regis Lakes Professional Review and Guide

"High and easy access off Interstate 90 makes this a popular weekend trip to a scenic mountain lake area. The hike is easy, except for the fairly steep last 0.5 mile up to the main St. Regis Lake.

The round-trip distance can be shortened to about 4 miles if you want to drive as far as possible. But many visitors prefer to walk the rough access road along the upper St. Regis River. This is Bitterroot Mountains huckleberry country; bring an extra “empty” water bottle in late July and August."

Beautiful hike up to the lakes. If you haul, and if you're short on time, it's a perfect 2-3 hour hike. It's also great for an overnighter by the lakes.
