Willow Creek Trail from Palisades Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Willow Creek Trail is tucked into a narrow draw between Grizzly Peak, home of Red Lodge Mountain ski area, and the Palisades. The Palisades are jagged, weather-sculpted limestone formations originally deposited by an ancient sea. The formation is visible along the eastern face of the Beartooths and is especially prominent at the Meeteetse Spires (Hike 25).

This hike weaves through a forested canyon from Palisades Campground to the ski area, following the contours of Willow Creek beneath the limestone and dolomite cliffs. En route, the unmaintained trail passes an old cabin and an abandoned mine, crossing Willow Creek numerous times."
