Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Parkside National Recreation Trail leads to Greenough Lake, a tree-lined, two-acre lake in Rock Creek Canyon. The lake is a popular fishing hole stocked with rainbow trout. A short loop around the lake is a wonderful hike to take with children. Beyond Greenough Lake, the gentle trail parallels Rock Creek, passing through pine forests and open meadows between the Hellroaring Plateau and the switchbacks up to the Beartooth Plateau."
