Corral Creek Trail to Line Creek Plateau Main Fork of Rock Creek

Corral Creek Trail to Line Creek Plateau Main Fork of Rock Creek Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Corral Creek Trail climbs a narrow mountain drainage from Rock Creek Canyon, near Ratine Campground, to the 9,600-foot Line Creek Plateau. The beautiful but strenuous hike gains more than 3,000 feet up to the plateau.

The trail parallels Corral Creek, curving past the west side of Sheridan Point to the headwaters of the creek atop the vast alpine plateau. The well-defined path has five creek crossings in the first mile. The hike can be combined with the Maurice Creek Trail (Hike 26 ) for a one-way, 13-mile shuttle hike."

Great hike. Beautiful views. Adding Maurice Creek means slightly over 14 miles. Bring bear spray. Bring water for the plateau. Definitely need a map and know where you are on it. It’s easy to start down the wrong drainage if you’re adding Maurice Creek. Which could be bad news. Be ready for rapidly changing weather, too.

Classic.. A must if you're in the area. The road up to the trail head gets rough but I've driven it in a small car. The trail is steep but well planned and footing is good the hole way. The views are breath taking and well worth the effort.

One of the best all day hikes ever. The terrain in not overly difficult as the elevation climb increases steadily thus not being a fatiguing hike. It is 9 miles round trip and the reward is one of most beauriful views on earth. In June the lake was still half frozen and the snow at the lake was a welcome treat.

This hike was really fun. It had a very steep elevation change, especially for a beginer like me. The trail is switchbacks most of the way up and then evens out past the tree line. The cool thing is that you can see the awesome view of Glacier Lake and the trail from the Beartooth Highway.
