Pryor Professional Review and Guide

"On the southeastern edge of the Crow Indian Reservation are the intriguing Pryor Mountains and the small town of Pryor. The mountains were created by an upward geological thrust of limestone rock. Eroded by rain and snow, the limestone was shaped into a maze of caverns and canyons fascinating to explore. South of the reservation is a section of the Pryors managed by the Custer National Forest, and the Pryor Mountains National Wild Horse Range.

Access to these natural areas is difficult, and a four-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended. However, one can appreciate the beauty of the Pryor Mountains by viewing them from the town of Pryor. Here the Chief Plenty Coups Memorial State Park offers an interesting museum and a peaceful picnic area. This eTrail provides detailed information on family-friendly things to do.
