Sam Braxton National Recreation Trail

Missoula, Montana

Sam Braxton National Recreation Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Named for a longtime Missoula rider and bike shop owner, the Braxton loop is an excellent beginners’ route. It’s also short enough to be a fine after-work jaunt when daylight is failing. A challenging circuit without too many serious obstacles, it’s an excellent place for intermediate riders to work on their bike-handling skills.

Shaded by pines and occasional aspens, the forest floor bears a multitude of wildflowers through the height of summer; deer, rodents, and birds call these woods home as well. Tread: Singletrack."
