Saddle Trail

Saddle Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Mount Jumbo Recreation Area is located at the northeast end of Missoula, offering several hiking trails in close proximity to the city and the university.

The picturesque Saddle Trail traverses the saddle between the northern and southern peaks of Mount Jumbo, the centerpiece of the recreation area. The trail crosses from Rattlesnake Valley to Marshall Canyon on a gentle grade. To extend the hike, the Saddle Trail connects with the North Loop Trail (Hike 1 2), which loops around the northern peak of Mount Jumbo, and the Backbone Trail, which leads to the Loyola L."
