Lower Sawmill Gulch Loop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Sawmill Gulch, part of the Sawmill-Curry Trail System, is a more recent addition (acquired in 1 986) to the Rattlesnake National Recreation Area. The trails are quieter and less frequented than the main Rattlesnake corridor.
Many of these trails were originally made in the 1 800s by prospectors, settlers, and livestock. This trail follows a large meadow, passing remnants of century-old ranch buildings, homesites, and abandoned orchards. The trails through Sawmill Gulch connect with Curry Gulch (Hike 6) and Spring Gulch (Hike 5) for extended hiking."
