Jumbo Backbone Professional Reviews and Guides

"The Mount Jumbo Traverse crosses the exposed southern face of Mount Jumbo. The hike offers bird’s-eye views of Hellgate Canyon, the Clark Fork River, and the forested north face of University Mountain. The trail winds through native grasses, connecting Rattlesnake Valley with East Missoula. A portion of the trail follows a U.S. West easement road high above Interstate 90."

This is a lovely easy trail that's used very frequently. Please be aware that you may come close to some homeless camps. It's never a big deal - it just takes some people by surprise sometimes. There are also some geocaches and letterboxes along the way!
