Glen Lake is a beautiful high mountain lake surrounded by steep, serrated, bare-rock cliffs to the south and timbered slopes to the north. The eight-acre lake sits in a bowl below the towering mountains. The trail steadily climbs to Glen Lake, weaving through the remains of a small burn area. The trail enters the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness and continues through a lichendraped forest with larch, whitebark pine, and subalpine fir. En route to the lake are great views of the Bitterroot Valley and snow-capped Gash Point.

For some reason there are two Glen Lakes on this website. This description is not accurate so go to the other trail description showing round trip hike of 5.4 miles. I have a full review on it which will be helpful
