Everchanging Forest Nature Trail

Everchanging Forest Nature Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Everchanging Forest Nature Trail borders the Swan River by the Condon Ranger Station in Upper Swan Valley. The trail follows a section of the original road through Swan Valley, abandoned in the late 1 950s. The old roadbed leads through an evergreen forest on Smith Flats. A side path leads to a channel of the Swan River under towering cottonwoods. Another side path weaves through an old logging site. The self-guided interpretive trail describes the forces of nature in a forest and how insects, birds, and animals affect the decaying trees."
